slow wanders in pito-one (petone)

I've developed so much love for this cute seaside suburb just 10-minute drive out of Wellington where I call home for the past 6 years. George and I did lots of long walks around the neighbourhood during lockdown, so we got to know Petone so much better in recent years. These summer days mean I can finish work at 4pm on a Friday and have plenty of time to wander around with my camera. I love the quiet streets with beautiful cottages and dreamy gardens. Sometimes I’d be lucky enough to spot some local “residents” basking in the sun or guarding at the door/ window. So forever grateful to call this place home.

Here’s a collection of my favourite shots of Petone captured over many slow wanders..

Before our move to London in June, I want to make the most of our time here in Petone. Appreciate the local hidden gems, the short walk to the beach, the cute little boutiques, and so much more. Thinking about this makes me want to do a series of my favourite local places in Petone. Maybe I will.

Till next time, x
